This week, the LiteracyWORKS learners and staff participated in the Lapidary workshop at the @manitobamuseum to compliment our theme on Indigenous Art.

It was an afternoon of learning and creativity. The participants chose a piece of soap stone that spoke to them, carved it, filed it, sanded it and then finally oiled it to reveal its hidden beauty. We were all very proud of the final product!

For the past 5 years, we have been fortunate to have had hampers donated to LiteracyWORKs for our learners. Each learner receives 2 bags filled with pantry essentials, hygiene products, fruit, bread and some treats. They also receive a card from the sponsors of the hampers providing encouragement and well wishes for the holidays and new year. We are very grateful for this generous donation and the learners appreciate it as well. Happy Holidays! #website

On October 22, the staff and learners went on a tour of the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada. It was the first time many had been to the museum. The learners enjoyed seeing all the different types of aircrafts and boarding the old Air Canada plane.
